A French-influenced institution, the
Universite du Quebec was founded in 1968 by the Government of Quebec and has become the biggest
Canadian university in regard to admitted students. Located within the major cities of Quebec, the Université
DU Quebec is home to nine campuses that enrich students and promote educational enlightenment. There is at least one campus located in each of the regions of Quebec, which helps the Universite give back to the providence as well as country of
canada as a whole. The Universite is home to some 86,000 students and nearly 6,000 faculty and instructors.
Students are offered an array of academic programs to study that will capture their minds and educate them on the platform of higher learning. In fact, the Universite offers approximately 550 programs for students at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. At the Universite du Quebec, students are intrigued beyond the classroom with innovative research opportunities. Students are able to apply what they learn from their textbooks and lectures to research programs in greater Quebec as well as Canada, and specifically in the area of natural resources. Students at the Université are placed into research groups to study and learn together as well as form kinships and friendships that will last a lifetime.
Progressing on the idea that the Universite du Quebec is aimed at giving back to its communities, many of the institution's graduates stay in the area in which they studied, become employed and contribute to the area's development and progress.
