Established in 1953, the College of
business Administration at
University of Akron offers six Bachelor's degrees in fourteen majors and fourteen minors as well as four graduate degree programs including the Master of
business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Management (MSM), Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) and Master of Taxation (MTax). The programs at the College of Business Administration are accredited by AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
All the courses at CBA are taught by the 68 full-time and 32 part-time faculty. The school enrolls more than 1,800 graduate and undergraduate students. Courses are taught in the CBA building, a four-story, 81,000-square-foot structure, that opened in 1991. Facilities include 19 classrooms, the majority of which are equipped with state-of-the-art multi-media equipment. The curriculum is experientially based and promotes team-based learning and group field projects where students work together on real-world, local business cases. In addition to regular graduate course study, degrees can be earned by attending evening classes and graduate students can start their program of study in any semester, including summer.
The College of Business Administration is part of the larger
UNiversity of Akron in Ohio, founded in 1870 as Buchtel College. There are more than 200 undergraduate majors and areas of study at UA and more than 110 Master's and doctoral programs. The University has more than 200 student groups, including sororities and fraternities, bands, gospel choir, theatre guilds and athletics. The University operates two 15-week semesters starting in August and January with an optional summer semester. They offer on-campus housing, financial aid and many scholarship programs.
