Smart Start is a college-preparatory learning community at University of Alaska Kodiak College that helps students capitalize on academic strengths while improving overall skills. This program is for new or returning college students who need to strengthen basic reading, writing, math and study skills.
To qualify for admission to University of Alaska Kodiak College, students must be at least 18 years old; have earned a high school diploma or GED; or qualify under special University programs. Prior to registering for classes, all students must be admitted to Kodiak College.
