Founded in 1907, the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, located in Honolulu on 320 acres, is the flagship campus for the University of Hawai`i System--one of only 13 institutions in the nation to hold the unique distinction of being a Land, Sea, and Space Grant research institution. The Hawai'i university has been named a Best Western College and America's Best Value College by Princeton Review.

A leader in Hawaiian, Pacific, and Asian studies, as well as in fields like astronomy, oceanography, international business, and travel industry management, the Hawai'i university is comprised of 11 colleges. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees in 87 fields and doctoral degrees in 51 fields. The University of Hawai'i at Manoa is the only campus in the University of Hawai'i system with schools of Law, Medicine, engineering, nursing & Dental Hygiene and Social Work.

There are more than 20,000 students enrolled at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Sixty-nine percent of this enrollment is made up of in-state students. There are over 200 student organizations, including the school newspaper and the undergraduate student government.
