The
University of Houston-Clear Lake campus is located on a 524-acre wildlife preserve, only minutes from NASA
Johnson Space Center and Clear Lake's high-tech community. The
Texas university boasts four academic schools that offer more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and certifications.
The University of Houston-Clear Lake's offerings begin at the junior level of coursework. The
Texas university has created comprehensive transfer plans to assist students transitioning from local community colleges such as Unilink. During their freshman or sophomore years, local students can apply and be granted a University of Houston-Clear Lake Student I.D. card, which provides access to the library, career and counseling services, and academic advisers.
Student enrollment is more than 7,500 students with nearly half of those students registered in graduate study. The University of Houston-Clear Lake has recently added a doctoral program in educational leadership and graduate programs in biotechnology,
engineering management and digital media studies.

The University of Houston-Clear Lake is more affordable than many other accredited universities. Sixty percent of all students receive some form of financial aid, and about $30 million is allocated every year for financial assistance through grants, scholarships, loans, work-study and veterans' assistance.
Since opening its doors in 1974, the Texas university has awarded more than 45,000 degrees.
The Schools of business, Education, Human Sciences and Humanities, and Science and Computer Engineering offer bachelor's degrees in more than 30 fields of study and master's degrees in more than 40 fields of study.
