University of King's College is an undergraduate liberal arts university situated on a five-acre campus in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Although small, University of King's College maintains historical significance as Canada's oldest chartered university.

University of King's College was founded by United Empire Loyalists in 1789, and even now some of the student societies that date back to the nineteenth century are still running strong. A fire destroyed the original Windsor campus, but King's College moved to its current location in Halifax in 1920 after entering an affiliation with Dalhousie University. With 15,000 students, Dalhousie University is the largest university in Nova Scotia, but University of King's College accommodates a total student population of about 1,100. Students can experience the intimacy of a small college but still have access to all the resources of a larger university.

The curricular approach at University of King's College is decidedly interdisciplinary. More than 30 years ago, King's College, noted for its strong humanities and journalism offerings, introduced its Foundation Year Programme, which breaks down the traditional walls between subjects, addressing instead how they disciplines relate.
