Founded in 1964, UMass Boston is one of five campuses of the University of Massachusetts. UMass Boston's goal is to provide a greater level of education at a reasonable cost, offering a range of opportunities for both graduates and undergraduates with over 90 programs of study to choose from. With the most diverse student body out of any institution in New England, UMass Boston is comprised of students from all over the country and the world.

UMass Boston strives for academic excellence but the institution also wants to give each of it's students a well-rounded education. The institution has a strong athletics department made up of 14 varsity teams. The Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams have won four NCAA team championships and 37 individual NCAA Championships.

UMass Boston's location is one that students can take full advantage off since the campus is located on Columbus Point. Apart from a stunning view of the harbor and the Boston city skyline, Columbus Point houses pertinent Boston landmarks such as The John F. Kennedy Presidential Libray and Museum.
