A part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS), Pennsylvania Hospital Education provides high-quality education to medical professionals and those pursuing careers in a range of health care fields. At this hospital - the oldest in the United States -- training is offered in emergency medicine, nurse anesthesia, medical technology, sports medicine and hospital administration. Pennsylvania Hospital Education also provides both graduate and undergraduate medical education.

The Sports Medicine Fellow spends one year learning about the medical care of athletes, including intensive study of the muscoskeletal system and how to evaluate and treat sports injuries. Participants in Pennsylvania Hospital Education's Administrative Fellowship learn about health care management and hospital administration, including areas such as finance, patient safety, research, peformance improvement, patient care service and community affairs.

The School of Medical Technology at Pennsylvania Hospital trains students for careers in clinical laboratories. This full-time, 11-month program at UPHS includes theoretical and practical training in subjects such as chemistry, microscopy, hematology, microbiology and serology/virology. University of Pennsylvania - Pennsylvania Hospital Education also offers undergraduate clerkship experiences to qualified students who are interested in pursuing a career in health care.
