nursing, science or veterinary medicine. The University of Prince Edward Island also offers a number of pre-professional programs.
Making new friends and getting involved is sometimes easiest when a student lives on campus. For those interested, the University of Prince Edward Island boasts a variety of residence options, including upgraded living quarters. Living on-campus also means that students are offered a meal plan. At the University of Prince Edward Island students are offered multiple meal options, including an all-you-can-eat meal plan that is usable until the late evening.
Known as the Panthers, the University of Prince Edward Island offers a number of varsity sports to take part in. Free admission to varsity games is also offered for those who'd rather cheer on the Panthers than play. Intramural and recreational sports programs as well as fitness classes and
personal training are also available for those who are looking for alternative ways to stay active. Along with the many programs available at the University of Prince Edward Island are wonderful facilities. Use the turf field, sports center, fitness center or Capital Area Recreation Inc. - known as CARI - for a well-rounded workout.
Established in 1968, The University of Prince Edward Island's Security Services Division is available to secure and protect 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. The division takes active role in student safety that involves specialized safety and security programs.
To accommodate for individuals with disabilities, the University of Prince Edward Island has begun the UPEI Plan for Inclusion. Under the plan, any new
construction or renovation projects will become barrier-free and meet universal guidelines.
