On nearly 2,000 acres in Saskatoon, the University of Saskatchewan is rich with nature and environmental resources. The entire campus is secured through an extensive safety program that incorporates both campus safety staff members and special constables. Campus safety is available 24-hours-a-day for students' and staff members' security.
The University of Saskatchewan was established in April of 1907. Belonging to the people of Saskatoon, the University of Saskatchewan is governed by three bodies including the board of governors, a senate and the university council. Thirteen colleges-from the College of Agriculture and Bioresources to the
Western College of Veterinary
medicine make up the University of Saskatchewan. The Saskatoon college offers more than 50 degrees, diplomas and certifications within more than 100 areas of discipline.
With a strong focus and dedication to the sciences, the University of Saskatchewan is the only Anglophone university in
Canada. Its many colleges contribute to the study of human, animal and plant life on one campus. The sciences are also backed with dynamic
research facilities including the CLS synchrotron, one of the largest research facilities in
canada, as well as the up and coming International Vaccine Centre, also known as InterVac.
The Huskies are a group of inter-university teams within the University of Saskatchewan. Students can become active in a variety of men's and women's sports including basketball, ice hockey, cross country, soccer, track and field, wrestling and volleyball. There is also a men's football team. Campus recreation programs and the Physical Activity Complex also provide students with alternative ways to stay fit and active on campus.
Students from nearly 90 different countries are represented at the University of Saskatchewan. With such diversity, it's safe to say that students here receive an enriching cultural experience. Students are also afforded more than 200 student exchange opportunities.
Meal plans and residence halls are also a part of college life and at the University of Saskatchewan students have plenty of say in what they'll eat and where and how they'll live. The University offers a number of cafeterias as well as a pub on campus. As for housing, the possibilities are endless.
