University of South Carolina Upstate is a senior comprehensive public institution of the University of South Carolina, located on 328 acres and set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Conveniently located along the I-85 corridor between Atlanta and Charlotte, USC Upstate offers more than 40 bachelor's and master's programs in the
liberal arts, sciences,
business, information systems, teacher education and
nursing.
The University of South Carolina Upstate enrolls more than 4,400 full-time and part-time students and employs about 192 full-time faculty and 141 part-time faculty. Ninety-six percent of USC Upstate's full-time, tenured and tenure-track faculty hold the highest degree available in their disciplines from respected graduate programs across the country. USC Upstate has a student/faculty ratio of 18:1 and an average class size of 25.
The University of South Carolina Upstate is in partnership with a nonprofit consortium of seven higher education institutions dedicated to increasing access to educational opportunities for the citizens of the Greater Greenville Metropolitan Area of South Carolina.
On-campus student housing includes a new $15.5 million co-educational facility that can house up to 346 students and an apartment-style housing complex reserved for upperclassman.
