The University of Sudbury is an undergraduate, liberal arts institution of high learning rooted in Catholic tradition and is dedicated to a bilingual approach to education. Founded in 1913 as Collège du Sacré-Coeur, the Sudbury college has expanded over the years and changed its name in 1957 to the University of Sudbury. With courses in philosophy, native studies, religious studies, folklore and communication, the University of Sudbury aims for its students to find deeper meaning and truth in all they do.

Located in the town of Sudbury, residents and students are offered ample amounts of leisure and recreation including pools, arenas, beaches, parks and community centers. With such a bustling area, students will find much to do both on and off of the campus' grounds.

While some universities offer just one campus and one learning facility, the University of Sudbury offers a strong federation, which it founded in 1960, with three additional universities. These universities include: Laurentian University, Huntington University and Thorneloe University--all of which are also located in the Greater Sudbury area.

As a Catholic university, the University of Sudbury offers students a concentration in religious studies, a student chaplaincy and a campus ministry, which help in guiding students through their religious growth. Each are available to enhance the Catholic faith and belief, offer Christian celebrations, give back through community involvement, offer prayer and study groups as well as counseling services.

For those who wish to live on-campus, the University of Sudbury offers more than 170 student residences that offer a private and secure living environment. Living in residence is a great way to stay involved and build life-long friendships with ones peers.

Getting involved on campus is easy for University of Sudbury students through the College Student Council. The council organizes cultural, spiritual, social and sporting events for its student body to actively take part in. The Council takes part in the Canadian Catholic Student association and also contributes to "touch the Poor," which offers ways for students to give back; the program is based in Mexico.
