University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, an institute of health science education and research, offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. San Antonio Health Science Center is comprised of a 100-acre central campus and five other campuses: North, Texas Research Park, Harlingen, Laredo and Edinburg. The Physician Assistant Studies Program is among the top 20 Graduate level PA Programs in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.

More than 2,800 students a year train in about 100 affiliated hospitals, clinics and health care facilities in South Texas. University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio offers over 65 degrees, mostly graduate and professional degrees, in the biomedical and health sciences fields. There are 1,142 full-time and 318 part-time faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and the student to faculty ratio is two to one.
