The University of Toledo Health Science Campus, located on a 450-acre campus in Toledo, Ohio, is home to University Medical Center hospitals and clinics and many of the University of Toledo's health-science research and education programs. The state-of-the-art buildings are used to teach the next generation of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. University of Toledo Health Science Campus is comprised of four schools and three teaching hospitals.

There are about 2,000 medical, nursing, Allied Health and graduate students and approximately 3,200 employees at the University of Toledo Health Science Campus. The graduate programs on the Health Science Campus provide a wide range of curricula for the training of beginning and established health professionals.

UTHSC opened the Medical University of Ohio Cancer Institute a few years ago. It is northwest Ohio's only unified, multidisciplinary center devoted to cancer research, education and treatment. Besides providing patients with clinical assessment, treatment, and support, the Institute seeks to create new knowledge and understanding of cancer at the molecular, cellular and physiological levels while educating health care professionals and the public.

  • The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged in 2006 to form the third-largest public university operating budget in the state.

  • UTHSC offers a summer pharmacy camp to high school juniors who want to learn more about careers in pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences. The camp takes place on the University of Toledo campus and lasts for three nights and four days.
