Dating back over 130 years, the University of Winnipeg was awarded its charter in 1967 and since than has been a growing institution of higher learning. In the heart of downtown Winnipeg, the University of Winnipeg is a small, yet diverse community of exceptional students who AIM to receive a quality, first-class education.

The University of Winnipeg is home to more than 9,000 undergraduate students who are enrolled in one of the following degrees: arts, sciences and/or education. Within the three faculties are nearly 50 degree programs for students to pursue. The University of Winnipeg also offers graduate degree programs in theology, Marriage and Family Therapy. The Winnipeg college's Graduate School is focused on not only in-class instruction in the advancement and involvement of research. The University of Winnipeg offers its students the opportunity to obtain scholarships for their continued research. Such scholarship opportunities are offered through the University of Winnipeg Manitoba Graduate Scholarship and other Canada graduate and postgraduate scholarships.

Being a college student often means experiencing residence life. At the University of Winnipeg students are offered numerous housing options that help build strong, lifelong friendships. Living in residence is also a key way to get involved on-campus and in campus-wide activities.
