The University of Wisconsin-Marathon County is part of the 26-campus University of Wisconsin system. The main building includes a student Union, bookstore, library, theater, planetarium, greenhouse, computer and tutoring labs, classrooms, offices, and the campus cafeteria. Students pursue an associate of arts and sciences degree.

After graduation students have the option of staying in the area and enrolling in distance education to earn a bachelor's degree from one of the four baccalaureate University of Wisconsin campuses that include: UW-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, UW-Superior, UW-Platteville.
