University of Wisconsin- Marshfield/Wood County, located on a 114-acre wooded campus, is one of the 13 campuses of the University of Wisconsin colleges, which are part of the 26-campus UW System. University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County provides the first two years of a
liberal arts general education.
There are about 650 students enrolled at the Wisconsin
liberal arts college. The student to teacher ratio is 17 to one. The average class size is about 23 students. About 35 percent of UW-M/WC students are adults who are either entering college for the first time or returning to college following a hiatus.
Students who participate in the Guaranteed Transfer Program are guaranteed admission as juniors to their chosen UW campus. The Collaborative Degree Program enables students to complete a bachelor's degree from UW-Stevens Point in
business administration, general studies and web/digital media development through evening classes taught at the Marshfield campus. UW-Eau Claire offers students a bachelor's degree in
nursing through a cooperative relationship with St. Joseph's Hospital.
