Utah Valley University, a four-year public institution, offers more than 55 bachelor's
degree programs and more than 270 career-preparation programs. More than 80 percent of the student body are Utah residents, and the remaining students represent 50 states and more than 75 countries.
As of July 1, 2008, Utah Valley
state college is officially renamed Utah Valley University. As a full-fledged university, the school will add graduate-level programs and a library/digital learning center. Fall 2008 marks the start of the first master's program to be offered by Utah Valley University with a Master of
education program. Soon to follow are a Master of Science in
nursing and a Master of
business Administration.
Founded in 1941, Utah Valley University started out as a
vocational school until it started offering bachelor's degrees in 1993. The student population has grown through the years to a total enrollment of more than 23,500 students.
Utah Valley University was ranked by
U.S. News and World Report as one of the top four comprehensive colleges with bachelor's degrees in the west.
