Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, also called VanArts, offers diploma and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including animation, visual effects and performing arts.

Founded in 1995, Vancouver Institute of Media Arts has full-time programs 2D and 3D animation, digital photography, game art and design, visual effects, Graphic Design, interior design and Acting.

All one-year diploma programs at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts are stand-alone, though it is recommended that students combine programs and take two years to complete one's education.

Students of Vancouver Institute of Media Arts can also take part-time courses, which meet once a week for 12 three-hour sessions. Courses include acting, basic drawing, comic book production, stop-motion animation and more.
