Dating back to the late 1800s, represents an institution of higher learning that was established in Cobourg, Ontario. Victoria University is made up of two separate colleges one being Victoria College--dedicated to arts and sciences--and Emmanuel College--a United Church theology college. Located within the city of Toronto, Victoria University students are immersed in a culturally enriching environment and are given the opportunity to experience all that Toronto has to offer--including art, sporting events and social activities.

Victoria University offers its students the chance to receive first-year instruction within small class sizes.

Established after the formation of the United Church of Canada in 1928, students enrolled in Victoria College at Victoria University are able to pursue any program that falls into the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Programs are extensive and there is surely something that will fit within one's academic goals. Students enrolled within Emmanuel College offers programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Toronto college aims to prepare its students for work within ministries, provide knowledge that is based upon biblical studies and thinking and provide leadership within The United Church of Canada and to continually search for the truth within each individual.

Victoria College is home to a number of research facilities. Each facility aims to offer students a valued learning experience outside of the classroom. Facilities include: Centre for Asian Theology, Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies, Centre for Research in Early English Drama/Records of Early English Drama, Centre for Research in Religion, and the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and technology.
