Although Virginia's Community Colleges offer certificate, diploma, and degree programs, not all of the colleges may offer the same subjects or the same level of instruction in them. For example, Blue Ridge Community College in northwest Virginia offers both an Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate program in administration of justice. Meanwhile, Tidewater Community College in southwest Virginia offers only the Associate of Applied Science degree in administration of justice. But with over 20 different schools to choose from -- and courses from horticulture and dental hygiene, to radiography and accounting -- there's sure to be something for most anyone.

Students at Virginia's Community Colleges don't have to be satisfied with just an associate degree either. Thanks to agreements with more than 20 public and private Virginia colleges, students who graduate from Virginia's Community Colleges with associate degrees may transfer their credits to bachelor's degree programs at traditional four-year colleges and universities.
