Voorhees college, a private, historically black, four-year liberal arts institution, is affiliated with the Episcopal Church and The college Fund/UNCF.

Founded in 1987, the main campus of Voorhees College is located in the rural town of Denmark, SC, which is approximately 85 miles southeast of Charleston. The campus has more than 25 buildings and five residence halls. In addition, there are three alternate campuses in other South Carolina cities: Charleston, Columbia and North Augusta.

Students at Voorhees College can choose from more than 25 undergraduate majors. The school is accredited by the Commission of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
