In 1969, George C. Wallace State Vocational Trade School and George C. Wallace State Technical Junior College merged to create the expansive two-year institution of George C. Wallace State Community College. Since then, this Alabama college has striven to provide students with the educational opportunities and career preparation that they need to succeed.

Accredited since the time of its establishment, Wallace community college is authorized to award certificates and associate degrees to students who have successfully completed their coursework and requirements. The school offers Associate in Arts degrees as well as Associate in Science degrees and an Associate Degree nursing program. Wallace Community College also provides students with a variety of subjects to pursue, whether in health care (physical therapy, medical assisting, and emergency medical services are a few of the subjects they offer) or careers like Cosmetology, air conditioning/refrigeration, welding technology, and computer information science.

In addition, this Alabama college offers training programs, free adult education courses (which provide students with GED preparation and/or ESL classes), and distance education classes on topics such as psychology, art, physical therapy, office administration, English, and history.
