Founded in 1852, Wartburg College is a nationally recognized selective four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located in the historic city of Waverly, Iowa, this Midwestern college offers more than 50 academic majors in the liberal arts such as education, modern languages, economics and more.

U.S.News & World Report includes Wartburg as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation in its 2008 edition of "America's Best Colleges." Among its many attributes, this Lutheran college is the only private College in Iowa offering a major in music therapy and also offers an impressive social work program -- the oldest undergraduate program of its kind in the state.

Wartburg College not only offers a diverse academic curriculum but numerous athletic opportunities for both men and women including wrestling, football, baseball, soccer and more. The campus also boasts top notch athletic facilities, such as the Wartburg-Waverly Sports and Wellness Center. This 200,000 square foot center is one of the largest NCAA Division III facilities of its kind in the nation. Some other notable outdoor facilities include several outdoor tennis courts and the Walston-Hoover Stadium which offers an eight-Lane track.

The Wartburg College student body is diverse with men and women representing about 24 states and roughly 43 countries. Students can also take advantage of top faculty with small class sizes and a student faculty ratio of about twelve to one. Students can also discover diversity by studying in other countries through Wartburg's global and multicultural studies program.
