West Virginia University at Parkersburg, founded in 1961, is a regional campus of West Virginia university offering certificates, Associate and Baccalaureate degree programs. The Parkersburg campus is a community college offering students a combination of Associate and certification programs as well as Bachelor's degrees. Some program areas include: education, technology, business and economics and more.

The University is also the fifth largest public institution of higher education in West Virginia.
