Western Nevada College-Yerington Center is part of the community colleges within the Nevada system of higher education. Western Nevada College serves more than 6,000 students each semester within an 18,000-square-mile service area.

The WNC Yerington center offers students both general college courses that lead to associate degrees and certificates, as well as career preparation classes in areas that include engineering and construction technology, nursing, musical theatre, golf facilities management, geographic information systems, criminal justice and Graphic Design. The instructional center in Yerington also has an updated computer lab with 17 stations and an interactive video room.

Western Nevada College has an open door admissions policy. There is no pre-admission standards new students are not required to provide transcripts of previous educational experiences.
