At Western Piedmont Community College, a wide variety of course programs are offered in business technologies, the health sciences, humanities and social sciences, and science, engineering, and mathematics. Within each general subject students can select from several highly specialized programs -- such as accounting and paralegal technology in business technologies; dental assisting and nursing in the health sciences; English and art education in the humanities and social sciences; and building construction and horticulture in science, engineering, and mathematics.

Best of all -- depending on the course of study that an individual chooses -- a certificate, diploma, or an associate degree can be attained in the subject. Students can also enter Western Piedmont community college in order to receive basic law enforcement training and the corresponding certificate.

Since this school is a member of the North Carolina Community College System, its admissions policy is considered "open door." This means that individuals who are 18 or over -- or who have graduated from high school -- will be admitted by this North Carolina college, provided that they demonstrate their ability to benefit from post-secondary education.
