liberal arts college. The college is located about 20 minutes from Springfield, Massachusetts and about two hours from
Boston. WSU is renowned for its
criminal justice program and its high number of state trooper alumni.
Westfield State offers 23 undergraduate majors, 60 different concentrations, and many other options for minors. The most popular majors at Westfield State are
business, communication, criminal justice, education, and psychology. The Division of Graduate and Continuing Education offers both full and part-time programs leading to Bachelor's degrees, post-baccalaureate Teacher Certification, and also Master's degrees in education, criminal justice, psychology, English and public administration. You can also pursue a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in education through the Division of Graduate and Continuing Education.
Westfield State University places a great deal of emphasis on life outside of the classroom. WSU has a number of student activities such as concerts, gallery exhibits, lectures, and theater that help enhance the college experience. WSC's 17 varsity teams compete in the NCAA Division III and the college also provides its students a state-of-the-art fitness facility; Woodward Center.
