Widener University, founded in 1891, is a metropolitan university that offers numerous undergraduate, graduate degree programs in a wide-variety of programs. The university offers eight colleges and four campuses in Delaware and Pennsylvania. The main campus is located in the city of Chester, not far from Philadelphia. Widener University was ranked among the top 50 national universities in the third annual "Washington Monthly" college rankings.
At Widener, students can choose from more than 150 programs of study and numerous degrees including doctoral degrees, master's degrees,
Associate Degrees and more. Some of the university undergraduate programs include philosophy,
fine arts, biochemistry, environmental science and more.

nursing , the school of
engineering and more. Despite Widener's vast campuses and broad array of programs, students can still take advantage of small class sizes with a 12 to one student to faculty ratio.
As one can imagine, Widener University offers a plethora of state of the art facilities accessible to students. Some include the Widener University Art Gallery & Collection. Memorial Library located on the main campus which contains a numerous volumes for students. On the Delaware Campus students can have access to one of the major law libraries in the region at the Widener School of Law Library Legal Information Center.
On campus students at WU can participate in many extra curricular activities, students organizational clubs and athletics. The athletics teams at Widener complete at the NCAA Division III intercollegiate level. There are numerous varsity sports available to men and women such as basketball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer and more. Most of the sports find their home in the Schwartz Athletic Center a state of the art facility which features a gymnasium, weight room, a championship size eight-
