Wilkes University is located on 27-acres of scenic land featuring state of the
art facilities, student organizations and clubs and more. Some include the
Eugene S. Farley Library, the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center for the Performing Arts and the Arnaud C. Marts Sports and Conference Center. The universities library facilities include more than 220,000 volumes of books and bound journals and much more. Additionally, the Sordoni Art Gallery, established in 1973, offers numerous exhibitions and was voted "the Best Art Gallery in Luzurne County" by the readers of Diamond City newspaper.
Wilkes Barre is situated on the border of the Pocono mountain region and is close to the major cities of Philadelphia and Manhattan. The city of Wilkes Barre also offers may activities including skiing at Sno Mountain or hiking and fishing in the many surrounding parks.
Students at Wilkes University can become involved with more than 70 student clubs and organizations on campus ranging from the Environmental club to the pre-pharmacy club. Also available to students is university's varsity athletic programs for men and women including Tennis, Basketball, Golf, Lacrosse and more. The athletic program is of the NCAA Division III in men's and women's intercollegiate sports.
