Founded in 1957 as an extension campus for the
University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, Williston
state college is a public, two-year
community college in the
North Dakota University System. Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Williston State College provides opportunities for transfer, occupational training, and community service.
Williston State College offers programs leading to an Associate in Applied Science Degree, diploma, or certificate through its six academic departments: Science, Applied Technology,
business, Humanities, Health & Wellness, and Computer Technology. Many courses are available
online. In addition, general education courses are available to improve basic skills, and developmental courses assist academically and economically disadvantaged students.
Williston State College competes in baseball, basketball, and volleyball. Students can also participate in academic and professional organizations on campus, including the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
