Winona State University strives to create a stimulating and enriching academic environment that will cultivate a community of learners devoted to improving the world around them. Winona State University is a public university comprised of three campuses, two of them in Winona and one in Rochester, Minnesota.

Located in the Mississippi River Valley, Winona State University offers students a stunning residential campus as well as numerous academic and community outreach opportunities. Students at Winona State University devote a combined effort of 15,000 hours a year to youth mentoring programs, among other things. They can choose from a wide variety of academic programs, including accounting, business, criminal justice, education, art, music, mass communications, social work, engineering, and computer science.

Winona State University students range from adult learners and career changers to high school graduates. Those who live on campus have numerous clubs and activities at their fingertips. Faith-based clubs, Greek societies, intramural and competitive sports, various academic clubs such as the Sign Language Club, Journalism/Photojournalism Club, and nursing Club, and a number of Special Interest Groups like Amnesty International and Big Brothers, Big Sisters are all open to students at Winona State University.
