Founded in 1975, Wor-Wic community college enrolls approximately 10,000 students based in Worchester, Wicomico, and Somerset, Maryland. Part technical, part liberal arts college, Wor-Wic provides programs of study for transfer students as well as those heading directly to the job market. Wor-Wic Community College currently offers 16 programs of study on both the associate degree and certificate levels. Credited programs of study range from Chemical Dependency Counseling to Construction engineering Technology.

In addition to classroom study, many Wor-Wic degree programs also require outside clinical or practicum experiences, giving student a chance to apply their studies to real-world problems. Those looking to make Wor-Wic a stepping stone in their academic journey will have help all along the way. The school's academic advisors will help you plan your program of study as well as provide help choosing and applying to a four-year institution. For those who can't make it to campus, Wor-Wic Community College also offers online credited and non-credit courses students can take at any time from anywhere.

Students with exceptional academic records may be eligible for the Wor-Wic Community College Honors Program. Providing smaller courses (each limited to 15 students), writing-intesive projects, and one-on-one faculty-student mentoring, Honors Program graduates not only leave Wor-Wic with an impressive transcript, their curriculum also fulfills the first two course requirements in the honors programs at Salisbury University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore. All Wor-Wic Community College students are encouraged to get involved on-campus. The student government association, Wor-Wic chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, and Wor-Wic Wave student newspaper are great ways to make your voice heard on-campus.

Wor-Wic Community College also offers a number of on-campus services and amenities to its students including daycare facilities, career counseling, personal counseling, and student development courses.
