Northwest Christian University
is known for its academic programs, as well as a strong connection to Christianity. This
Oregon school is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Christian Churches/Churches of Christ, but the school accepts students of all Christian denominations. Values for students at Northwest

There are approximately 534 students who attend Northwest
Christian university, taught by more than 20 full-time faculty members. More than 95 percent of students receive some type of scholarship. The student/faculty ratio is about 9 to 1. Our top five majors are currently teacher education,
business, psychology, exercise science, and music industry.
Located in Eugene, Oregon's third largest city, Northwest Christian University is located in the stunning Willamette Valley, about 100 miles south of Portland. Eugene is just one hour away from the Cascade Mountain Range and the Pacific Ocean. The city is biker-friendly, with many bike paths and routes throughout the city.
Athletics play a part of campus life at Northwest Christian University and is affiliated with the Cascade Collegiate Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. These teams include men's and women's basketball, men's and women's distance track, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, and women's softball and volleyball. Since 1983, the teams have made 20 national tournament appearances and won eight national championships.

Christian colleges and Universities: American Studies Program, Australian Studies Centre, China Studies Program, Contemporary Music Center, Latin America Studies Program, Los Angeles Film Studies Center, Middle East Studies Program, Programmes in Oxford, Russian Studies Program, Summer Institute of Journalism, and Uganda Studies Program.

Eugene C. Sanderson, a pastor an educator, founded the Northwest Christian college in 1895. The college became known as Northwest Christian University in 2008.
