University of Akron's College of Creative and Professional Arts includes four schools: Myers School of Art; School of Communication; School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration; and School of Music. Plus, the College includes the region's flagship performance venue, the E. J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.

Advocate and
University of Akron alumna, the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art is one of only a few named art schools in the entire country. Its students learn on campus from outstanding faculty and guest artists, and can also experience the Venice Biennale, Art Basel Miami, and other outstanding travel opportunities.
• Hands-on experience is invaluable for new graduates entering the highly competitive field of communication. The UA School of Communication helps to provide that experience through an internship program, service-learning projects in the community, well-equipped media and computer laboratories, and student-operated WZIP-FM and Z-TV.
• Akron is a dance destination.
Dance Spirit magazine has lauded The University of Akron for having one of the "most sought after dance programs in the country." Opened in 2007, the Center for Dance and Theatre at Guzzetta Hall is recognized as being a world-class facility.
• The UA School of Music offers undergraduate and graduate programs in performance and music education. Faculty and students present more than 350 performances each year in venues on-campus and beyond. An impressive 100 percent placement rate has been achieved consistently over the years by UA music education graduates who choose to teach.
